Pear Tree Elementary is looking for Vancouver families that share and support our educational philosophy.

For 2019/20, we are currently accepting application for all grades.

We have application deadlines on:

  • February 21, 2019
  • April 25, 2019

Application Deadline: February 21, 2019
Assessment Day: February 28, 2019 (4:30-5:30pm OR 5:30-6:30pm, depending on grade)
½ day Trial Day: March 4-8, 2019 (for those applying for grades 1-7)
Family Interview: March 11-15, 2019
Decision Date: March 22, 2019

Application Deadline: April 25, 2019
Assessment Day: May 2, 2019
½ day Trial Day: May 6-10, 2019 (for those applying for grades 1-7)
Family Interview: May 13-17, 2019
Decision Date: May 24, 2019

Application Process


  • Kindergarten

    1. Complete Online Application (see application deadline dates) + Pay $250 + GST application fee

    2. Submit required documents:

    • Proof of your child’s Canadian citizenship or permanent residence (i.e. birth certificate, passport, PR card)
    • Parent’s proof of Canadian citizenship, Permanent Residency or Study/Work visa
    • Letter of reference from current preschool or daycare
    • Any other information about the student ( including but not limited to academic / psychological evaluations or assessments)
    • Any Individual Educational Plans (IEP) assigned to the student
    • Any English Language Learning (ELL) reports
    • A copy of your child’s CareCard and/or vaccination records (if applicable)

    3. Student Invitation for 1-Hour Assessment Session

    4. Family Interview

  • Grades 1-4

    1. Complete Online Application (see application deadline dates) + Pay $250 + GST application fee

    2. Submit required documents:

  • International Applications

    Pear Tree Elementary welcomes international applicants, and has a limited number of places available for international students seeking from one or more years of education with us.

    Pear Tree Elementary is one of the top private independent schools and is ideal for families looking for the best that modern Canadian education has to offer.

    Families can either register with us directly, or through an agency / immigration firm.

    Please note that during their attendance at Pear Tree Elementary, all international students must reside with a family member (parent or relative) in the Vancouver area.

    At least one family member must provide proof of temporary residence in Vancouver, i.e. work visa or study visa.

    Also, the child must already have a sufficient level of English to study in their grade level. The higher the grade level, the higher the level of English required.

    Application Process

    1. Complete Online Application (see application deadline dates) + Pay $250 + GST application fee

    2. Submit required documents:

    • Copy of your child’s passport
    • Copy of parents’ passports
    • Copy of parent’s work visa (if applicable)
    • For Grade 1 – 7 applicants: a copy of the most current report card (in English)
    • Any other information about the student (including but not limited to academic / psychological evaluations or assessments)

    4. Video submission

    • Demonstration of your child’s English literacy (reading, writing, speaking, listening) and numeracy skills
    • Short presentation by student about herself/himself
    • Email video link to our Admissions email address

Uniforms

Pear Tree Elementary has its own high-quality school uniform, which complements our educational philosophy: collaborative teams, a sense of belonging, and a respected identity for the child and school in the community.

Uniforms should be purchased directly from Pear Tree Elementary.

Please note: uniform costs are separate from tuition fees and are subject to GST.
