School Cleaner Role

We’re looking for a kind, responsible and hardworking cleaner with a passion for making a positive impact: someone who not only takes pride in their work, but also wants to make a positive difference in the world.

We aren’t looking for someone to work alone. Our school is a busy environment, and you’ll be a visible, integral part of our community. A job well done will result in high esteem and vocal appreciation from our close-knit community. 

During your workday you can expect to:

• vacuum classrooms and offices
• sweep corridor areas
• empty garbage and recycling bins
• take out garbage and recycling to outside bins
• clean surfaces
• clean washrooms
• sanitize iPad screens (weekly)
• clean glass on doors
• monitor cleaning product stock levels and inform directors of supplies needed
• do weekly deep cleaning (incl. carpet shampoo)

Aside from your qualifications and experience, you’re perfect for this role because you have the following in spades:

Working @ Pear Tree

Start Date: March 20, 2023

Hours: 2 hrs / per day

Days: Monday-Friday 3.30-5.30pm or Tuesday-Saturday 6-8am

Pay: $25 / hr (plus vacation pay)

Pear Tree School is more than a school; we’re an educational community. In addition to our school, we run educational camps in the spring and summer. We’re an ambitious group with a mind toward growth. If you’re the right person for the job, you’ll become an integral part of Pear Tree as our school expands in size and geography.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in cleaning (an asset)
• Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
• Must be able to work effectively and efficiently
• Time management skills
• High attention to detail and sanitation rules
• You will need to provide proof that you are legally allowed to work in Canada
• You will be required to go through a criminal record check (for working around minors)
• Must enjoy being around kids!
