This role is essential in helping us expand our vision to transform education at all stages, from early childhood through post-secondary. These responsibilities are often seasonal, periodic or project-based. Some responsibilities will eventually be delegated to future team members as the company grows.

What you’ll need:

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required.
    • A Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, Educational Leadership) is an asset but not required.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management, ideally within a multi-location or scaling organization.
    • Proven experience implementing Lean methodologies, process improvement frameworks, or operational excellence programs.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
    • Leadership and team management experience, with a proven ability to influence and drive change across departments.
    • Tech-savvy, with experience in implementing software tools for operational efficiency (e.g., CRM systems, project management tools like Asana or Trello).
    • Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and process optimization.
    • Experience in the education sector is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Training & Certification:
    • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) or other relevant process improvement certifications are preferred.
    • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2) would be beneficial but not essential.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive total compensation package, with a starting salary of $80,000-$100,000/year plus benefits. Starting pay is partially based on the range of relevant skills and experience, but it is also based on a 3-month probation period to ensure that you are the right Operations Manager for our organization. Results ultimately determine your salary, both short and long term.

Vacation: 

We offer exceptional paid vacation time, follows:

  • Winter break (~3 weeks)
  • August (1 week)

Working Hours

This is a full-time position. You’ll generally work 7:30am to 3:30pm; however, some circumstances may require you to be at work outside of these hours.

You will be directly answerable to the Pear Tree directors, Paul Romani and Alexis Birner.
