Guest Speaker: Dylan Wykes

Canadian marathon runner and Olympian, Dylan Wykes, was the guest speaker today at Pear Tree Elementary.
Dylan is currently mounting a comeback after representing Canada in the 2012 London Olympics, finishing 20th – the fastest of three Canadian participants.
Today, Dylan talked about what it takes to be an athlete, tying this to Pear Tree’s current themes of ‘Sport Science’ (for Community 1) and ‘The Brain’ (for Community 2).
What is more, Dylan represents a real-life example of what hardwork, knowledge, perseverance, healthy living, and teamwork can achieve – and is, therefore, a great role model for Pear Tree’s students.
