Back in June 2021, Alexis was invited to participate in a podcast episode about the importance of theme-based learning for teaching about climate change and, consequently, in tackling climate change.

The podcast was hosted by the Reasonably Radical team, a team of educators working in both public and independent schools, who were studying their Master’s of Education in Education for Sustainability together at UBC. Among the team is/was Katelyn Jmaeff, one of Pear Tree’s classroom teachers.

Among the other podcast guests were two members of staff from a regional Mini School that teaches every second day on a farm. The other guest was an employ from Metro Vancouver, who is a former school teacher.

Collectively, all of the speakers are endeavouring to promote much strong environmental education by encouraging students to think in an interdisciplinary way.
