Hear from our alumni

At Pear Tree, we’re excited for what the future holds for our students. Here’s what they have to say about their experience at our school.

Pear Tree felt like another family to me. I realized that I have developed many new relations and I have learnt myself of what I am capable of. Developing my confidence was one, but I have also learnt many life lessons. Every Friday assembly taught life lessons, not just me, but everyone else. I also remember when the teachers acted out skits and everyone would laugh because at times, it could be funny. The Friday assemblies also made me realize that every student is developing in their own ways.

I really felt like everyone in Pear Tree was just a family. We were all very close to each other and everyone around me was very, very nice. It really showed me how much communication and friendships matter.

ELLIOT

Pear Tree helped me gain confidence in being more social, because with a smaller class and school in all. I also developed confidence in my skills and knowledge, because I felt free to ask, answer and share my opinions without feeling like I would be made fun of and be worried if I was wrong.

ALEX

I remember joining Pear Tree terrified because I was new and didn’t know how to communicate with new friends but I’m sure that Pear Tree developed my confidence. It was mainly because of the many group projects that I wasn’t able to partner up with my friends and I was basically forced to talk to new people. Talking to new people made me realize how different people could be and I slowly developed my confidence. I also think that the weekly presentations made my life a lot easier.

One project that I think will stay with me for a long time was a project about hydration and and ways to have a balanced intake of water. This project was very important to me, because it’s a topic that is very well known, but not taken into account and just thrown aside. This project also greatly developed my skills using the Internet and media to find and use information.

ALEX

I could mention many memories of Pear Tree. Making new friends was one, but I think the projects had a huge impact on me. I remember once our project load was so huge that our tables were filled with multiple different crafts or paper. At that time, we were also studying urban cities and we were told to make a building that is important to our city out of gingerbread. Eventually the tables were filled with an airport, hospital, and a mall shaped in a gingerbread structure. We usually eat lunch on the tables, but we couldn’t clean up all our work, so we decided to have a picnic on the ground. At that time, it really felt like a community.

KELLY

Pear Tree has definitely developed my confidence when presenting because now, I don’t feel as nervous anymore. In high school, you’re not going to be as well known because there’s so many people so it is important to join clubs, and talk to new people. Pear Tree has helped me develop more communication skills that helped me with high school.
